English: Albert Square, Brisbane, ca.1912.

Scene at the corner of Adelaide and Albert Streets looking down Albert Street toward the Botanical Gardens. The prominent building on the right is the former Queensland Deposit Bank and Building Society, erected in 1889. At the time of this photograph it housed the following businesses: Ewan Jas G, House and Estate Agent; Henzell Ern C; Henzell Thos S, Estate Agency; Australian Metropolitan Life Assurance Co., Ltd.; and the Metro Fire Accident and General Insurance Co, Ltd.

A sign for George Gough & Son, painters and decorators, can be seen next door above the entrance to the shop. Horsedrawn carriages and pedestrians are in transit along Albert Street.
