Description
English: Woman in a distinctive outfit, posing for a studio portrait , 1890-1900 A woman poses for a studio portrait wearing a distinctive outfit. She is wearing a blouse constructed from a bold, large-checked fabric, with a high, lace collar. The lapels of her jacket are made in matching fabric to the blouse, while the rest of the jacket is made of a dark coloured fabric which matches her skirt. The jacket has 'leg-of-mutton' sleeves, a cinched-in waist, and bead detailing. A ruffle of lace extends over her hands from the sleeves of the jacket. Photograph taken by W. J. Ford of Ararat.
