Description
English: Federated Carters and Drivers Union float in the Eight Hour Day procession, Brisbane, 1924. The Federated Carters' and Drivers' Industrial Union was registered in 1906. The union was forced to disband in 1947 when the carters and drivers industry became virtually obsolete. Most of its members went on to join the Transport Workers’ Union of Australia.
