Description
English: Statfold Barn Railway - Mallet locomotive. This is the Grain Store that houses the site's impressive collection of steam, diesel and battery locomotives. The focus of the picture is this articulated locomotive - Jatibarang No. 9, built by Arnold Jung (Kirchen) in 1930 as No. 4878 and is a 0-4-4-0 TT. It worked in Java and was both the last Mallet built in Germany and the most powerful 2' gauge example ever built. The Mallet design as seen here is both compound and articulated. On this occasion the site's 2' 6" gauge Orenstein & Koppel example was at work.
