Description
Nederlands: Gekleurde tekening van Philippe van Gulpen van het spoorwegemplacement van de Aken-Maastrichtse Spoorwegmaatschappij en het eerste station van Maastricht in 1854. Het station was gebouwd van hout (in chaletstijl) om snel te kunnen worden afgebroken (het lag in de vestingwerken). Het station bestond slecht drie jaar (1853-56), omdat het in de weg stond van de nieuwe spoorlijn naar Hasselt. Van links naar rechts: de rijtuigenloods met dubbelwoning van de stationschef en de ingenieur-werktuigkundige, een locomotief met ruituigen, een zuilvormig monument (waar niets over bekend is), daarachter de goederen- en locomotievenloods (met hogere watertoren), de cokesloods, en het stationsgebouw.
