English: Station Square, Milton Keynes Future generations may well consider Milton Keynes to be a creation 'of its time' - reflecting the 1970s planners' obsession with the motor car. How else can the monumental blunder of building the central shopping centre a 15 minute uphill walk from the West Coast Main Line be explained? In any case, what is now Milton Keynes Central station did not appear in the original plans. This view looks up from Station Square towards Midsummer Boulevard; pedestrians, however, won't get far walking this way; they should head down into an uninviting subway out of shot to the left of the picture. |
