Description
English: Statue of the Dreyfus. Paris – Place Pierre-Lafue.

Alfred Dreyfus was accused of treason and sentenced, but was innocent. The case Dreyfus divided the French people in two categories: the ones who believed he was innocent: the Dreyfusards and the ones who thought he was guilty: the Antireyfusards. It was also a turning point for the Jews in the French society as this case showed the antisemitism of this era. In the end the real culprit was discovered and Dreyfus was rehabilitated. The sculptor is Louis Mitelberg aka Tim
Français : Statue du capitaine Dreyfus. Alfred Dreyfus fut accusé de trahison et condamné mais était innocent. L'affaire Dreyfus divisa la société française de l'époque en deux catégories : les dreyfusards et les antidreyfusards. Ce fut un tournant marquant pour les juifs dans la société française car l'affaire montrait l'antisémitisme de cette époque. Finalement le vrai coupable fut découvert et Dreyfus réhabilité. Le sculpteur est Louis Mitelberg connu sous le nom de Tim
