Stenomylus hitchcocki Loomis, 1910 - fossil camel skeletons from the Miocene of Nebraska, USA. (public display, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA)

From museum signage: "Although considered ships of the desert today, camels originated in the forested areas of North America. Stenomylus was a small gazelle-like camel perfectly adapted for living in and eating the grasses that appeared during the Miocene. They browsed in herds, rapidly sprinting away at the hint of danger."
