ATLANTIC OCEAN (Feb. 21, 2018) The guided-missile destroyer USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 98) fires its Mark 45 5-inch gun during a live-fire exercise. Forrest Sherman is underway as part of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (HSTSG) composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX), which evaluates the strike group's ability as a whole to carry out sustained combat operations from the sea- ultimately certifying the HSTSG for deployment.
