Title |

Description |
English: Possibly Stewart and Holmes Drug Co. at 627-629 1st Ave. (1901) On verso of image: E.W. Stewart's Pharmacy. 619 Front St.
"E.W. Stewart" seems like an error; Stewart and Holmes were Alexander B. Stewart and Henry E. Holmes; a sign can be seen here saying "A.B. Stewart". "Front Street" later became First Avenue. A large sign for Stewart & Holmes Drug Co. at this location can be seen at [:File:Pioneer Square looking northwest from James St, Seattle, ca 1900-1903 (SEATTLE 3064).jpg]]. |
