Still no joy in the play-offs. This time Yeovil Town destroyed our hopes winning 2-1 on the day. May 2016 - Since this rather sad day, the Bees have been doing very nicely thank you. We won automatic promotion to the Championship the following season and followed that up with another trip to the Play-offs which we predictably failed in however losing a Championship play-off is a damn sight better than losing a League One one. Last season was not so successful but ninth in the Championship is still a great result for us and we look forward to another season in the Championship starting August. As for Yeovil Town they were relegated two seasons in a row and were lucky not to be relegated again last season, promotion up the League is always to be hoped for but unless you have the cash it is sometimes a case of 'careful what you wish for!' Update 27/05/21 Brentford finally won a playoff final at Wembley and will play in the Premiership next season. After 9 previous failures in the playoffs I thought I would never get the chance to celebrate a victory here. It was every bit as wonderful as I dreamed it would be. |
