| Description |
English: Stone Cross at All Saints Church, Roos, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. I don't know much about this cross except what I've been told about the carved symbols, which all relate to the crucifixion: a crown of thorns at the top, hammer and nails on the left, cup and dice on the right referring to soldiers gambling for Christ's vestments, and at the bottom a spear which was thrust into his side, crossed with what is probably a sponge on a reed as was used to wet his lips. |
