A stone dhvja pillar from Southern Han era, also called Zhen Xiang Pillar. Inscription.

Summary edit

Description
English: This is a stone dhvaja pillar from the 5th year of the Da Bao era (CE 962) of Southern Han dynasty of ancient China. Also called the Zhen Xiang Pillar, the Elephant Sealing Pillar. The inscription and the Dongguan county's record both says it was erected after the locals exterminated some elephants that damaged the fields, to prevent the fallen animals from turning undead. However, archeology excavation revealed no elephant remains under the pillar, only those of the deer and boars. The pillar is now displayed freely in Dongguan Museum. This is the photo of its remaining inscription.
