English: Stone commemorating Broadgate, Exeter "Broadgate removed 1825", reads the inscription. The stone is set into the northeastern wall of the opening between the High Street and Cathedral Yard. Unfortunatety someone has piled their rubbish next to it. Its appearance and setting look a little different from the photo at http://www.exetermemories.co.uk/em/_streets/broadgate.php , which gives the history and an illustration of the vanished gate. |
