English: Stonemason at Lichfield Cathedral Steadily tapping away at this pair of stones and well sheltered from the rain on this gloomy day. He told me that this was Derbyshire Sandstone and that the original multi-coloured work on the cathedral was because stone was brought here from many different quarries. He was chipping out the top rosette to complete this pair of stones - about a week of work to get here from the original square blocks. |
