Deutsch: Südwestansicht der Burg Werfenstein in der Ortschaft Struden, ein Dorf in der oberösterreichischen Marktgemeinde St. Nikola an der Donau.
Die Burg dürfte zu Beginn des 13. Jahrhunderts erbaut worden sein. An sich ist von der Burg nur mehr der mächtige Bergfried erhalten, denn das westlich anschließende Bauwerk ist ein „Neubau“ eines eingeschossigen Wohntraktes vom Architekten Gerhard Sedlak. 1488 übertrug Kaiser Friedrich III. die Burg an die Brüder Siegmund und Heinrich von Prüschenk. Diese errichteten zwischen 1491 und 1493 eine neue Burg in Grein und gaben Werfenstein dem Verfall preis. 1907 erwarb Jörg Lanz von Liebenfels die Ruine und baute sie zur „Ordensburg“ seines völkisch-esoterischen Neutempler-Ordens aus. 1963 wurde die Burg neuerlich verkauft und von dem Linzer Arzt Hannes Kopf zum privaten Alterswohnsitz ausgebaut: [1], [2].
