Inscribed by the artist, 'Queen Elizabeth', lower left. This battleship (laid down in 1912 and commissioned in 1915) is shown here in starboard-broadside view after February 1917, as refitted for service as the Grand Fleet flagship but before her searchlights were re-grouped in coffee-box towers on the second funnel late in 1917.
