English: Rear Adm. Fred Midgette, commander of the Ninth Coast Guard District, is joined by Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, Congressman Reid Ribble, and Sturgeon Bay, Wis., Mayor Thad Birmingham during the reading of a proclamation officially designating Sturgeon Bay a "Coast Guard City," May 10, 2014. Sturgeon Bay, which has a 140-year relationship with the Coast Guard and its predecessor services, is now one of 16 cities designated by Congress with that distinction for support shown to the men and women of the Coast Guard.
