Description

Ancien bureau de chef de station sur le quai de la station de métro Sèvres–Babylone à Paris, ligne 12.
Des débuts du métro parisien jusque dans les années 1970, les chefs de station disposaient d'un bureau sur le quai d'où ils pouvaient surveiller les quais et les mouvements des trains. Ce bureau était équipé d'un petit standard téléphonique et de quelques commandes d'exploitation. La modernisation du réseau entraina leur disparition, les bureaux de vente aux entrées des stations étant désormais équipés de moyens de télécommunications, de surveillance et de commande à distance des équipements de la station.
Les bureaux étaient très différents d'une station à l'autre, avec des décors particuliers, certains se fondant dans la voute. La plupart de ces bureaux ont depuis été détruits ou transformés en vitrine d'exposition.
