Klasifikasi : Kingdom : Animalia Order : Primates Phylum : Chordata Family : Cercopithecidae Class : Mammalia Genus : Presbytis Primata ini saya potret di Taman Nasional Way kambas Lampung tepatnya di Kecamatan Labuhan Ratu, Lampung Timur, Indonesia. Surili merupakan primata endemik pulau Sumatera. Warna rambutnya yang bersih, badannya yang ramping, dan jambulnya yang sangat keren monyet jenis ini dikenal dengan nama Simpai. Monyet putih ini menyukai hutan-hutan primer dataran rendah sampai pegunungan hingga 2500 m di atas permukaan laut, kadang mereka dapat dijumpai di sekitar aliran sungai. Namun akibat adanya penyusutan hutan menyebabkan mereka dapat dijumpai di daerah perkebunan. Pakan simpai adalah buah-buahan, bunga, biji, pucuk daun, beberapa jenis serangga. Hidup simpai berada dalam kelompok yang terdiri dari satu jantan dan 5-7 betina, atau beberapa jantan namun tetap didominasi oleh betina dan anak-anaknya. Jumlah individu dalam satu kelompok dapat mencapai 20 ekor. Monyet ini berada pada kategori terancam punah (Endangered) berdasarkan daftar merah IUCN. Dan merupakan satwa dilindungi berdasarkan Peraturan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (LHK) No. 92 Tahun 2018. |
