TheMichigan Central was the pioneer Eastern dining-car line, and has always en-joyed the highest reputation for the quality of its cuisine and the character ofits service. It thoroughly comprehends the wide difference between feedingand dining. The menu, though ample, is not overloaded by a wilderness ofdishes through which one wanders in search for the palatable; but the viandsare of the choicest, prepared by an experienced chef, and served by skillfulwaiters, upon dainty chiua and snowy linen, in the most tempting style. Nothingis wanting to the enjoyment of the most fastidious as he leisurely discusses thesuccessive courses, or sips his well-selected wine, glancing from time to timeat the pleasing scenery that glides swiftly by the broad plate-glass windo^v, until Serenely full, the epicure shall say, Fate can not harm me, I have dined to-day.

VTORTHERN Michigan is a Iegion characterized by an air of marvelous--^ purity, laden with balsamic odors from the piue forests, giving healthand strength to the invalid with everj^ inhalation, and peculiailj cmative to hayfever, asthma, and bronchial affections. The clear running streams and blue-green waters of the lakes are full of finny prey, and the forests afford good sportto the himter in the proper season. There is much wonderfully picturesquescenery on 3Iackinac Island, and in the Iegion of which it is the center, includingthe Cheneaux Islands, the Sault de Ste. Marie, the Pictm-ed Rocks of LakeSuperior, and tha lake shore near IMarquette. Reference to the folding map will enable the tourist to clearly trace hisroute.
