Summary edit

Description
English: Sutherland Works, Normacot Road, Longton. Grade-II-listed pottery works, dated c1850, in red brick with blue brick decoration. It stands on the south side of Normacot Road, opposite a grassed area fronting the church of St James and St John. The wide arched entrance is typical of factories in this area, although most lack the arched top to the windows and are less highly ornamented. (A more typical example nearby is 313144.) The site also includes three bottle kilns to the rear (not visible). Unlike most pottery works in this area, the building is still in use as a factory shop
