Description
English: The roadway of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from the south-eastern bridge pylon, composed largely of the Bradfield Highway section of the Cahill Expressway, looking towards the Sydney City, or southern, approach. Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

The bridge lanes from image left (east to west) are:
  • fenced walkway;
  • two separated traffic lanes, one with restricted use as a bus/public transport lane at certain times - these two lanes originally carried the Sydney trams;
  • six traffic lanes, which can be varied in direction (refer to green arrow/red cross lights on the gantries above the lanes) - originally this roadway consisted of four wider lanes, but was soon converted to six narrower lanes to handle increased traffic volumes. Tollbooths are visible near the bases of the high-rise buildings;
  • two railway tracks (a train can be seen emerging from the underground railway in this image);
  • fenced cycleway
