For many income distributions provided by the The World Income Inequality Database (2007-05) the difference between their symmetrized Theil indices and their Hoover indices have been plotted over their respective Gini indices. The Hoover index is the sum of the plain deviations from inequality weighted by their own signs. The symmetrized Theil index is the sum of the plain deviations from inequality multiplied by their information weight. The difference illustrates the impact of the different inequalities on the information generated by these inequalities.
