Description
English:
Built to Headquarters of the Economic Association of Békés County as a groundfloor building in 1906. In 1910 (or shortly after) extended with plus storey based on plans of (probably) József Wágner. On the 2nd floor used by the Association, the 1st floor was rentable. Here was the General Savings Bank of Békés County, and an economic? machinery warehouse. Partly remodelled in 1929. Ihe Garrison (Officiers?) Club moved in in 1962. In the 2020 restaurant and clubhouse? Commemorative plaque on its façade: 'Honvéd Lieutenant Colonel Zoltán Kovács died heroically on 4 November 1956 from the fire of Soviet armoured troops //Municipality of Békéscsaba City with County Rights 1995' - 6 Szabadság (Liberty) Square, Downtown, Békéscsaba, Békés County, Hungary.

Egyemeletes. Egykori Békésmegyei Gazdasági Egyesület székháza majd Helyőrségi Klub. 1906-ban épültföldszintes székházépületnek. 1910-ben (v. röviddel késöbb bővítették emeletesre) vélhetően Wagner József tervei alapján. Az emeleten a kaszinó és az egylet ülésterme foglalt helyet, a földszint egyik oldalát a Békésmegyei általános Takarékpénztár vette bérbe, másikoldala pedig gazdasági gépraktár lett. A kaszinó helyiségeit 1929-ben Bohnert József irányításával alakították át. 1962-ben a Helyőrségi Klub költözött az épületbe. Szecessziós mintázatú erkély.
