Description

Pels af rensdyrskind med hårsiden ind. Pelsen har lige kanter forneden og slidser i siden. Der er frynser på ryggens nederste kant. Dekoration med perler og syv forskellige slags stof af uld og bomuld. Pelsen har tilhørt Maumik, søn af Aqigjivik. Bukser og vanter af rensdyrskind. Støvler af afhåret sælskind.

Fra Eskimo Point og Kazan River, vest for Hudson Bay. Indsamlet på 5. Thule-ekspedition 1921-24.


Parka of caribou skin with hair side inward. The parka has straight edges below and slits in the side. There are fringes on the bottom edge of the back. Decoration with beads and seven different kinds of wool and cotton. The parka belonged to Maumik, son of Aqigjivik. Trousers and mittens of caribou skin. Boots of depilated sealskin.

From Eskimo Point and Kazan River, west of Hudson Bay. Collected on 5th Thule Expedition, 1921-1924.
