Description

20151104_DEU_AB_3 MEDITERRANEAN SEA -- While participating in the "freeplay" phase of NATO-Exercise Trident Juncture 2015, Turkish frigate YAVUZ simulates an adversary ship trying to attack Dutch landing platform dock JOHAN DE WITT. SNMG2 flagship German frigate HAMBURG protects JOHAN DE WITT and is trying to turn YAVUZ away. A sailor of HAMBURG is visually sending a message in morse code via spotlight (November 4, 2015). The units of Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2) are sailing in the Mediterranean Sea, inter alia, participating in multinational exercises and Operation ACTIVE ENDEAVOUR, showing presence of the Alliance and conducting routine port visits in NATO and Non-NATO countries.
