Summary edit
DescriptionThomas Jefferson Bible Lined Cover.jpg |
English: The original leather covering was supported on the inside of the spine with Japanese paper. The uppermost layer was tinted blue to help the next generation of conservators. Should future generations of conservators ever need to disbind the book again, the blue paper marks where their knife should aim. The marbled paper inside the front and back covers was lifted to expose the board beneath. |
