DescriptionGonggong-Neptune resonance (preliminary).gif | The preliminary motion of dwarf planet candidate 225088 Gonggong (2007 OR10) in a rotating frame with a period equal to Neptune's orbital period. (Neptune is held stationary.) It shows the known orbit of 225088 Gonggong librating in a 10:3 resonance to Neptune. This is resonance is not confirmed and may be merely a near resonance. Neptune is the white (stationary) dot at 5 o'clock. Uranus is blue, Saturn yellow, and Jupiter red. The animated GIF consists of 16 frames covering 26,000 years. |
