Ve smyslu § 3 písm. a) zákona č. 121/2000 Sb., autorského zákona, se autorskoprávní ochrana nevztahuje na úřední díla, jímž je mj. právní předpis. Nařízení ministeria práv č. 187/1897 ř. z. platilo na českém území i po vzniku Československé republiky.
