Français : Le terme “tartifume”, en France, se retrouve un peu partout sur le pourtour atlantique, d'Angers à Bordeaux et au-delà.
Son origine est discutée. Il pourrait s'agir d'une allusion aux fours de potiers d'antan, qui fonctionnaient sur une plage horaire étendue, parfois jusque dans la nuit. A Niort il y eut dans cette rue, à partir de 1898, un atelier du constructeur automobile local G. Barré. La société, incapable de se développer à grande échelle malgré quelques succès d'estime, disparait dans les années 1930. |
