DescriptionTask Force Gold, GoI = partners for progress, peace in Baghdad DVIDS129216.jpg |
English: Dr. Abdul Samad Rahman Sultan, minister of Displacement and Migration, who is the Government of Iraq official in charge of the reconstruction of Sadr City, Baghdad's most densely populated district, greets his American counterpart, Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Talley, a native of South Bend, Ind., who is the commander of the 926th Engineer Brigade, which is based out of Montgomery, Ala., whose Task Force Gold is focused on transformation in the OE Gold Sector of Sadr City. In the five months since Task Force Gold was created Task Force Gold renovated 39 schools in 120 days and redeveloped seven public health clinics in addition to installing 175 solar powered lights to bring a sense of security and normalcy to the area. Additionally, more than 24 micro-generators were installed, which brought electricity to thousands of residents. In fact, said Talley, the reconstruction progress in OE Gold stands as a model for the rest of Baghdad and Iraq. |
