English: Toudah Tirtha located in Kirtipur Municipality of Kathmandu District. About 2 km away from Chobhar is this religious and historical site. In ancient times, when Kathmandu Valley was a reservoir, Manjushri cut the mountain with a sword or Krishna struck a circle and cut the gorge of Chobhar to get water out of it. Due to being the abode of Vishnu and Shiva's beloved Nagraj, this place has become religious. According to the legend, in the past, when doing any good deed in this place, if you prayed here, you would get the required silver utensils. According to the Akro legend, the Bhoto show will be performed on the day of the procession and on that day Karkotak and other snakes go to see the procession. Devotees throng here to worship the snake on the day of Nag Panchami, the festival of Hindus. In addition, different species of birds migrate from different countries during the winter season. Currently, this place has become a tourist destination. |
