English: A High Output Ballast Cleaner (HOBC) leaving the Network Rail depot in Taunton. The RM900RT unit (this is number DR76503) is heart of the operation, cutting old ballast out from under the track and cleaning it or moving it forward into empty hoppers. It can also add clean ballast from the rear of the train.
