Description
English: Celtic inscribed stone dated 5th to 7th century. Originally used as a gatepost to a field on Roborough Down near Buckland Monachorum, Devon; moved to the vicarage garden at Tavistock, Devon in 1868 by Hastings Russell, Duke of Bedford. Front inscribed DOBVNN{I} FABRI FILII ENABARRI ("Of Dobunnus the smith, son of Enabarrus"); now extremely worn, and almost invisible. Left edge with Ogham inscription reading upwards: ENABARR ( ᚓᚅᚐᚁᚐᚏᚏ ). CISP TVST3/1
