Summary edit

Description
English: The taxonomic ranking system is used to characterize organisms. Ordered from broadest to most specific, the basic groups go as follows:

1-Domain 2-Kingdom 3-Phylum 4-Class 5-Order 6-Family 7-Genus 8-Species

Each division of the ranking system separates one organism from another based on its characteristics. The organism’s scientific name is written as the genus capitalized and its species lower case. (Genus species). This is called the binomial nomenclature system developed by Carolus Linnaeus.
