No. : P. 6186 Vajrasattva, the sixth Dhyani Buddha is generally known as the priest group of five Dhyani Buddhas. He is seated in Vajraparyankasana. Sakti is shown embracing Buddha. She holds the Kartri in her right hand and Kapala in her left. In Tibet, the word 'Yab' means the honurable father and 'Yum' means the honurable mother. Thus 'Yam-Yum' means father in the company of the mother or in her embrace. This form, depicting the ultimate eternal bliss has a deep spiritual significance - God, the embodiment of Surya represents prefection having attained Sunya (Karuna) and therefore is the highest stage of Nirvana. |
