| Description |
English: Temple Newsam tram terminus. A wider view of the attractive Temple Newsam terminus. An extra track had been put in during World War II where old balcony cars could be stored - the Government had prohibited scrapping them. There were eventually so many of these that one of the running lines had to be used as well, leading to single-line working. After a serious head-on collision, the balcony cars were removed back to Torre Road depot, where they languished until 1945, when at the end of the war, most of them were burned. |
