• Note that the uploaded photo is of better quality than the newsprint copy. It originally was taken from a website and licensed as PD-Pre-1923. A search of Newspapers.com has failed to turn up a published copy of the photo from the timeframe (circa 1906-1908) when it was taken and most likely first published. A copy was printed, however, at the time of Thaw's death in 1947.

• Renewal searches were done in publications for the years 1974 and 1975. There were no renewals for The Plain Speaker, Hazleton, Pennsylvania. There were no listings for the newspaper.
