Summary edit

Description
English: The Anchor Inn at High Offley, Shropshire Union Canal. This anachronistic traditional "gem" of the waterways serves excellent Wadworth's 6X beer from a jug brought up from the basement cellar. The landlady is Olive, and her grandparents bought the pub from the Shrewsbury Brewery (?) in the 1920s and the family has been there ever since. There is a fully stocked souvenir shop. The pub is only open at weekends during the winter, so check-up first!
  • Update 8.6.09 Two handpumps have been installed; well Olive is 73 now.
