Summary edit

Description
English: The Caseg leat from the summit of Gyrn This photo shows not only the confluence of the leat and its ditributaries with Afon Ffrydan but also the line of the now more difficult to distinguish extraction leat from the Ffrydan across the lower western slopes of Gyrn (which then continues across the Gyrn-Moel Lefn col towards Bryn Hafod-y-wern Quarry). The leated water supply to the Quarry, which had been purchased from the Penrhyn Estate in 1845 by the Royal Bangor Slate Company was suddenly and permanently cut off by the Estate in 1884 in a fit of spite leading to the immediate closure of that quarry. In the background are the summits of Yr Elen and Carnedd Llywelyn. The Caseg leat runs from the foot of these mountains around Gyrn Wigau.
