His cult spread to Japan, where his legend cohered well with samurai warrior ideals. In a popular iconic image he rides his horse named Red Hare and holds his spear called the Green Dragon Crescent Blade.White-on-black prints were intended to look like ink rubbings taken from an ancient Chinese stone carving."
