Summary
editDescriptionThe Core of a Waterwheel - geograph.org.uk - 567847.jpg |
English: The Core of a Waterwheel. This is a close-up view of the metal axle which formed the core of a large waterwheel. It is unusual for any metal objects to be left on derelict industrial sites in Cornwall but here it seems this wheel was just left to rot. The large wooden structure of the wheel has disappeared since this facility closed in 1917. The cog wheel on the right, which would have been used to take off power for the milling machinery looks to me as if it has a diameter of about 6 feet. You can see more of this site at 567146. |
