| Description |
English: The Dumbles. The small valley seen here is know locally as the Dumbles. The valley leads from a gate (behind the viewpoint) and through trees and scrub to a series of small (private club) fishing ponds. Originally the ponds provided fish to the hall and also ice for the Ice House, which is also in this valley.
During wet weather water sometimes comes to the surface in the valley bottom. To see a photograph taken a little further down the valley, click here 586052. To see a photograph of the gate leading to the valley (behind the viewpoint), click here 586031. |
