Summary edit

Description

Ancient Scottish history in Dunning. The Dupplin Cross thought to be from the reign of King Constantin, a Scottish Pictish king who reigned around 830AD. It was found on a hillside at Forteviot in the grounds of Dupplin Castle Estate nearby in 1879.

It was moved by Historic Scotland to St.Serf's Church in Dunning Perthshire in 2002 and can be viewed daylight hours most days. The carvings and script are genuine pictish, the carved picture is reckoned to be Constantin on his warhorse.
