Manual affiftance is feldom or never necefTary during the firftfive months of pregnancy: the exclufion of foetus and placentafhould very generally be trufted to nature. The medical treatment of abortion muft therefore be confi-dered with a view only to the prophylactic cure : and this againwill chiefly confift in a proper attention to diet.
