Summary edit

Description

At the National Tramway Museum in Crich.

The Museum started in the 1950s / 60s when most of the old tram networks in the cities of the UK were being closed down.

The Tramway Museum Society was formed in the late 1940s when the decline began and they started to purchase the trams, track etc.

The Crich site came to the attention of the society in the late 1950s. They later purchased the site.

At the Crich Tramway Village. On Tramway Street.

The George Stephenson Discovery and Learning Centre

(The George Stephenson Workshop Discovery and Learning Centre)

Opened in 2011, the George Stephenson Discovery and Learning centre explores how the museum started and how overcrowding in expanding towns and cities paved the way for the introduction of trams to Britain in the 1800's.

Dummy - cleaning up (human) waste (I think).
