examples ofseveral passerine birds. Amongst these were some of a newspecies of Dendroeca, which I have had the pleasure of namingafter Lord Crawford. We anchored at 4 p.m. in AnchorageBay and at once went ashore. Some natives guided us to theGannetry; they told us that Dr. Sharpe had been thereabout a fortnight before and had shot several Gannets.We spent about an hour in the Gannetry, and the nextmorning we had about three hours ashore. I collectedspecimens of the following eight species of birds on LittleCayman :— Dendroxa palmarum (Gmel.).Dendroica palmarum Cory, B. W. I. p. 53.Only one example of this species was met with on LittleCayman. Dendroeca crawfordi. (Plate XI. fig. 1.)Dendroeca crawfordi Nicoll, Bull. B. 0. C. vol. xiv. p. 95(June 15, 1901). I met with only three examples of this Warbler. Theywere creeping about in some thick undergrowth. It is anear ally of Dendroeca vitellina, but a distinctly larger andpaler species. from the West Indies. 587 ear-coverts, and has not the streaks of the same colour onthe sides of the breast which are characteristic of D. vitellina.Besides, the dark line through the eye is pale and is notcontinued beyond the eye, and the upper parts are moregreenish yellow than in the bird of Grand Cayman. I havealso examined a specimen of Dendroeca craivfordi whichwas procured on Cayman Brae by Dr. Sharpe. Certhiola sharpii Cory. Certhiola sharpei Cory, B. W. I. p. 288. There appears to be no difference between examples ofthis species from Grand Cayman and Little Cayman. Iobtained four examples on Little Cayman. The young birdsare greyer on the back than the adults. Quiscalus gundlachi Cassin. Quiscalus gundlachii Cory, B. W. I. p. 113. This Cuban species is common on Little Cayman, especi-ally near the mangrove-swamp in which the Gannets breed.Iris pale yellow ; bill, tarsi, and toes black.
