Description The Jacobean House, The Wardwick,. Derby’s first brick building, which was built in 1611, is reputed to be one of the most haunted buildings within the city of Derby, with approximately 14 ghosts. The house originally had five gables and the grounds extended between present day streets, Macklin and Curzon. However in 1885 the building was partially demolished to make way for Becket Street
