Description
English: The Jewel Tower, Abingdon Street, London SW1 When this was built in 1365 it was known as the "King's Privy Wardrobe" and contained the treasures accumulated by Edward III. It was once part of the larger Palace of Westminster but was one of only two parts of the building (the other being Westminster Hall) which survived the great fire of 16th October 1834. Today it is open as a small museum run by English Heritage.
